First Telecom Services history

First Telecom Services, LLC has been leveraging utility and telecom assets for the telecommunications market since 1996. The current company is a subsidiary of First Communications, Inc., and is the newly named business resulting from First Communications' purchase of FirstEnergy Telecom Services, Inc. from First Energy Corp. in March 2008. FirstEnergy Telecom Services, Inc. had been formed as a result of combining GPU Telcom, Centerior Telecom, and Advanced Technologies Development Corp. (ATDC). Since its formation, First Telecom Services has expanded its fiber optic network and increased wireless site capabilities to facilitate new communications needs. 

To help serve your needs, First Telecom Services also utilizes the assets of a number of electric distribution companies that operate throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
